Introduction

The outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic has baffled the governments of several nations primarily due to the speed at which the virus is being transmitted and the overwhelming pressure on the healthcare system. It is quite evident that only 15% of the patients require critical care and only 3-4 % require ventilator systems, while there is actually no specific cure identified for the infection, thus far.

Mauritius, though an island, away from all other mainland, has imported the virus through probable tourist or citizens returning from infected nations. In the last 6 weeks, the country has seen significant increase in the infections and a few deaths. Tourism being one of the core revenues for Mauritius and to exit from the lockdown situation, it is very important to implement a mechanism for early detection of infections, contact tracing and curb the transmission of the COVID 19 infection.

Our solution towards reducing the impact of COVID-10 for organizations and authorities

While governments and organization are focused on controlling the transmission of COVID 19 virus, Graphene AI redefined its internal objectives and developed a multi-channel tracking of health parameters of humans with the objective of early detection of infection, tracking of contacts and monitoring of adherence to social distancing practices defined by the health authorities.

Our Artificial Intelligence Solution detects health conditions of patients at a very early stage and proactively attend to such individuals thereby enabling early detection of infection and subsequent early detection and ease management of cases and reduce the turnaround time to apply corrective measures. This also helps in ensuring that the symptomatic patients are quarantined therefore reducing the possibility of community transmission. This can, later, be used to monitor routine health and alert systems. The solution also enables monitoring of social distancing guidelines and alert responsible parties regarding violations, e.g airports, malls, supermarkets, public places

technology

A “Track and Trace” application working in tandem with a “Health Wearable” and “Health Hawk”—computer vision solution has significantly helped in managing the spread of the virus and building confidence amongst employees and authorities regarding workplace safety.

Track and Trace: A mobile application which is installed on any smart phone which generates QR codes which need to be scanned at entry points of all government and commercial buildings, malls, stores, transport vehicles including metros, hospitals and all public places.

Likewise, each app on the SMART Phone will generate a key code which will be used to track interactions between individuals whereby the APP will automatically exchange the key code. This key code will store the interaction key code of other SMART Phone users as well as record the time of interaction.

In case a person is infected, then it is easier for contact tracing and also to identify all areas which could have been possibly infected by the person. The entire database is encrypted and no PII data is used to track personnel. Only if the person is proved to be infected, then the data pertaining to the person and the contacts are decrypted and tracing is enabled.

Covid Monitor wearables:

The changing trends in human health consciousness has enabled the implementation of dynamic health monitoring, using wearables which collect and transmit data, which are very useful for monitoring the health condition based on analysis of specific parameters. During the COVID 19 pandemic situation and post Covid 19 situation, these devices maybe used for monitoring specific health indicators which can flag off an infection related health condition and will assist the health authorities to assist such symptomatic individual to undergo a heath check to evaluate the possibility of an infection and in adverse conditions, may be able to provide emergency assistance. The probable conditions could be increased temperature, increased rate of breathing, cough and other related symptoms.

The data is captured on an AI platform where the data is encrypted and stored to maintain compliance to GDPR requirements. Whenever the health parameters of subjects deviate from acceptable limits, alerts are flagged off depending on the severity of the deviation and appropriate corrective actions can be taken. Use of this technology can significantly reduce the time taken to diagnose the subject and thereby able to provide timely medical attention.

Health Hawk:

Monitor and report human behavior using computer vision technology primarily focused on symptoms of COVID 19 but later used for surveillance and security. This solution makes use of thermal cameras and IoT devices such as pulse Oximeter to monitor % Saturation of Oxygen Level, temperature and blood pressure which will alert H&S Officers in case of any suspicion of Covid-19 symptoms. This can also be used for crowd monitoring and compliance related to social distancing.

2nd Wave of infection and how we help prevent it.

While second waves and secondary peaks within the period of a pandemic are technically different, the concern is essentially the same: the disease coming back in force. Without a vaccine, and with no widespread immunity to the new disease, one alarm is being sounded by the experience of Singapore, which has seen a sudden resurgence in infections despite being lauded for its early handling of the outbreak.

COVID-19 is now widespread across the globe, and countries remain at risk of a second wave of infections, sparked either by overseas arrivals or undetected pockets of infection. When an outbreak is brought under control by social distancing and other measures, it’s possible only a small proportion of the population will have been infected and gained immunity.

If a population has not achieved herd immunity, enough susceptible people may remain to fuel a second wave if controls are relaxed and infection is reintroduced.

In any event, after the first wave has passed, preventing a second wave will require ongoing surveillance and testing to detect and isolate any new cases as control measures are unwound. If social distancing measures are to be relaxed, ongoing vigilance will be needed to prevent a second wave.

Graphene AI’s solution is reducing the impact of COVID-19 by enabling both private and government organizations continue their operations while keeping track of the virus progression and alerts within our country until a vaccine is developed.

Digital Transformation for the insurance segment – A post Covid Scenario

Augmenting Sales through Marvin

In the new normal, while insurance agents will continue to exist, customers will look at an appropriate alternative. Our proprietary SmartBot “Marvin” uses several features to drive end to end customer engagement and ensure quality lead generation with high conversion rate. The use of NLP coupled with the AI engine at the backend provide a human like conversation while understanding the intent and expectation of the customers.

A real time dash board also provides insights into customer behavior and play a significant role in defining features of new insurance products. Automation of the on-boarding process and under-writing process further reduces the TAT and results in increased customer acquisition.

Claim Automation – Automobile Segment

In the post Covid19 scenario, one of the key objectives of any business is to avoid human contact to the extent possible. Graphene AI’s artificial intelligence and machine vision capabilities provide a fast and easy way for customer to address their claims and queries to insurance companies via our Omni-channel communication and can avoid contact with Insurance Surveyors.

Our Machine Vision technology enables insurance policy holders to upload the images and videos of the vehicle damage at the accident site which is then processed by our AI engine to assess the severity of the damage by analyzing each part of the car. The model will provide recommendations of whether the part needs repair or replacement and generates an estimate of the total cost of repair.

AI Platform for Insurance Agents and Brokers

The COVID 19 infection is expected to last for about 18 months and authorities will restrict all mass gatherings and training of insurance agents is another new challenge. Our AI platform ensures that the agents are empowered with information on the latest products and schemes. A self-learning model which also monitors their performance, provides them intelligent nudges on targets / renewals and also provides alerts and announcements. This platform empowers the agents to monitor the targets versus achievements, understand customer profiles and sell the best fit products to customers and also keeps them abreast of the latest changes in policies and regulations on real time basis.
