Currently on my Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law, London. Did my LLB Degree – Bachelor of Law with Honours in English and Mauritian Law at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Mauritius. President of the Student Law Society at UCLan for the year 2018-2019. I participated in a training called 'Active Citizenship Training Programme' by think tank group ‘Think Mauritius’, a youth programme named 'Transparency Mauritius Youth Forum' in 2017-2018, a project termed 'National Leadership Engine' and the National Youth Parliament in 2018 – First Edition. I feel that there is a real need of civic engagement and civic education in Mauritius. Also, a lack of youth empowerment. My article is mainly for young people who are not interested in politics and are always just posting on social media and not engaging themselves in participating in actions for a better Mauritius. Youth empowerment must be encouraged without any kind of discrimination. “Civic engagement is a responsibility of every citizen.”
